Sprout!

So here is my IF painting! Sprout! yay for green thumbed hitchhikers! I had alot of fun with this and I feel like I will be able to learn to paint on the compter! The assignment was To scan in linework and paint it on photoshop.

I love it...even if she isn't blonde :). the gestural quality is great in her hair and i really like the clouds.

Pretty nice...were you given instruction or did you just play with the layering and airbrush modes to get your desired results (overlay, screen, airbrush flow, etc)?

This is lots of fun! I love the setting and her facial expression!

thanks everyone of the comments!

Brine Blank: I dont know what any of that means! The instructions I recieved were mostly on channels and scanning linework. For blending I just used a painterly brush with the lineweight dependent on pressure and changed the opacity alot I also used the eyedropper to ge in-between values. I hope that helped!

Very nice style. I especially like the curls in the clouds.
Is Peter De Seve one of your
influences?

I agree with everyone else. This is great. Great lines, great colors, great expression. I am a bit confused about the hips and the back leg. It feels like the hip on the left side of the illo goes out too far for the way the back leg is. Do you get what I'm talking about?
